I bought this one specifically for taking on vacation to Florida. It's a nice detector but there are a couple of concerns: #1) using it on Standard Mode in the surf is almost impossible. The constant beeping is obnoxious and the volume is set too loud. It can be turned down a little but it's still too loud. #2) If you turn on Discrimination Mode, you still dig tons of trash. Even with it set to "9". Zillions of bottle caps. Nails. Fish hooks. No matter where you have the Discrimination Mode set. What I like about this detector is that the batteries seems to last a long time when using it. And they are easy to change.
If you live on the coast, this isn't a bad detector to have but, living in Ohio, I may have to rethink my purchase.
