Hi,
Someone has posted a question regarding GPS and Google Earth on an article named "Research, research, research. Although I don't work for Google I do know that it is compatible with several different versions of Linux, OSX and also Windows. There is also a slew of different options to choose from, including gps integration ( Google Earth plus a $20 upgrade) and also GE Mobile which allows maps to be displayed on phones. There are literally 1000's of solutions when it comes to Google Earth. Visit http://earth.google.com/product_comparison.html for a comparison of all their products.

I think I might be looking into GoogleEarth Plus. I wasn't 100% sure that they allowed for GPS waypoints to be inserted.. was hoping that I didn't need to jump up to GoogleEarth Pro.

Do you incorporate GPS units with your on-field research? I think it's a great idea. Thanks for submitting a great article.

Thanks!

Thanks for the Welcome and NICE SITE! Wow very impressed! Pro is the way to go, for only 20 bucks its worth the upgrade ( thanks for the tip on comments I didn't know I would be able to do it that way or not). The GPS section I know they are working on waypoints and a myriad of other options I have checked out World Wind (NASA product), and the new Microsoft product but like the options that Google gives you. If you are familiar with ArcView / ArcInfo Google allows for imports of shp (shape) files although I think at this point its only available on enterprise editions. The ease of use of GE is what I like.
Happy Hunting and thanks for the Welcome
