So, we've had three days in a row above freezing, and my south facing lawn is all dry. It's still re-al frozen, but thought I'd take the Minelab out today and see if I can start getting use to it.
First signal, first dig, got me a memorial cent. I was actually surprised, since my goal for the afternoon was to pull out at least one coin.
That first coin was nice to see, but the digging was brutal. I can go about 1 inch before it's rock. I'll just have to be patient and wait for a good thaw. I was just happy that I was able to pinpoint the machine. Thanks to TBGO's post, I think I have it pretty much figured out.
I need to get use to the smartfind display. I feel odd that I really don't know what I'm digging, got so use to the XLT letting me know. Just have to learn this new language. I thought I'd force myself to stick with the smartfind first before going to digital display. On the XLT, I was all about the spectra-graph (SP) vs the VDI.
