After some careful deliberation.. and the fact that things were in place, we decided to launch the site a little ahead of schedule. We launched on Saturday (1/13/2007) instead of Monday.

We started the site with some great user submitted articles. Hank D. of Montana wrote an interesting lumber camp article with some great finds! Chris B (also known as 'The Beep Goes On (http://www.thebeepgoeson.com)') contributed a couple of great articles including an awesome report on White's DFX vs Minelab's Explorer SE. JJ A. put together a super interesting article focusing on GoogleEarth and how to overlay old maps to establish a relationship of historic landmarks to present day landmarks for hunting sites! These are just a few to start the site off with a bang. We're already receiving additional articles for the next batch of updates.

Our initial goal, since the site is new, is to put an article out a week. Please contribute to the site's inneractivity by commenting and rating articles, or submitting your own (http://www.detectorbase.com/index.php/fuseaction/articles.guidelines.htm)! There can be alot learned by the discussion generated from this initial articles!

Again, I'd like to thank all the writers that submitted articles to help make this initial launch a success.. and especially, I'd like to thank you for visiting the site!

Thanks!
