Just wanted to say a few words and introduce myself to the forum. I live in eastern NC about 50 miles from the Atlantic. I have been mding for a little over 2 years and use the Garrett GTAx 750 which I like very much. Some of my best finds have been a 1908 Barber dime, a 1909 Barber 1/2, a 1918 Walking Liberty 1/2, a 1964 Kennedy 1/2, a Federal Marine CW button, a CW era bridle rossette, and many clad coins and artifacts. I mainly hunt local old house sites and fields where I have learned that houses or country stores once stood. So far this year, I have dug 1 mercury dime (1919), 2 silver Roosevelt dimes (1960 & 1963), 1 silver quarter (1959), 1 Indian Head Cent (no date/ my first ever), 26 wheat cents, and 244 clad coins. I've also dug 2 silver bracelets, 1 silver St Christopher medalion, 1 boy scout neckerchief slide, 1 old French Centimes coin (no date), along with 2 cigar boxes that I've filled with other trinkets and oddities. Needless to say, I'm addicted and this winter I have tried to hunt 3-4 times a week for at least a couple of hours each hunt. I have really learned a lot about my detector in the past 4-5 months and have gained a lot of confidence in what it is telling me. I have only been reading/posting to forums since December 2006 and really enjoy it. The photo that I posted is a few finds that I made between August 06 and December 06 to post on the first forum I ever visited. This forum looks like it has a lot of potential and should grow quickly (that's why I joined early ~ so I could be here from the beginning. Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing your finds and sharing more of mine.
