Just got my Lesche trowel today... can't wait to give it a full test. Looks mean and tough.. just as it should!

Got mine just two weeks ago. It is a lot easier to use than a hand trowel. Cuts through soil like butter.

I agree 100%, the lesche is a great addition. I can't believe I waited so long to get one. I wish it would extract dirt a little better. I use it conjunction with my standard trowel. I let the lesche dig the plug, and I do my detail work in the hole with the trowel. It's duller.. so I feel I won't scratch so easily.

I bought a clone from my local MD dealer for $17. It's all right, but I'm thinking it's nothing as good as a Lesche. Has anyone tried those plug poppers?

I have this one made by Fiskars. Works very well for $10.http://www.fiskars.com/pImages/US/165111_7079_480.jpg

Wow. That's nice looking and for ten bucks? Since the tip is split, does it get snagged when you initially dig your plug?

Thanks for sharing!

Snagging is not much of a problem, but the tip does tind to "load up" at times. A quick wipe across the ground usually clears it.

i have the lesche raptor and the wilcox 11" all pro with side cutting edges.
the lesche was great for the first year but actually started to crack a little, despite how well it is made. on the postive side moves alot of dirt quickly because of the scooped shape.

the blade itself has become dull and does not puncture sod very well now, but i havent sharpened it nor really know how to, so not really using it anymore.

the wilcox i prefer these days. it does very well digging clean plugs in turf and if you end up in the woods digging targets; does very well vs roots. if they made a long handled version for deeper targets, i think that would be my ideal trowel.
