I'm not going to call this an 'accessory'. It's too good for that. It's a metal detector.. and I'm very excited about it. This is one of those things that I didn't think was worth the money reading about it, but this year I decided to drop some dough and pick it up. Well, it's changed my whole view of metal detecting, pinpointing and recovery.

I can't believe how much I use it. I don't recover a single target without it. It's great! I've had a few other probes. Bullseye, vibraprobe, and they all do good for sniffing targets in your pile or catching the edge of the coin in the hole wall, etc. But this is where the X-1 takes it up a notch. The X-1 give you about 2-3" of detection depth! That's right, you don't have to be touching it or practically touching it. It'll tell you what direction that target is. Also, it's inline with your detector so it's using your detector's ID and discrimination.

I love the ability to swing over a shallow target, and without digging pull out the X-1 and scan the ground with that. The probe's end is about a quater's size in diameter, so you can get right on top of the coin. Then with a popper easily pop the near surface coin!

Between this and Lesche trowel, detecting has gotten a lot easier and let's me spend my time on target ID'ing and gives me more swing time.
