Just curious, If smartfind is just a cursor representation of the digital signal or vice-versa, then they are the same, just different ways of displaying the same info. Then why would there be and advantage to using smartfind over digital as was suggested?

Yes, SmartFind is a visual representation of digital. The advantage is how your brain processes what it sees. I initially started with SmartFind and went to Digital, but now I'm fully liking SmartFind.

I felt the numbers were hard to remember, and the position of the cursor was much easier to remember. Top right is coin targets, bottom right is screw caps and bottom middle is nickle. Nice and simple. But your brain might think that digital is easier. I sometimes switch to digital on nickel targets to see what the ferrous reading is when the target bounces around.

Hope this helps.

I think I posted this link already, but it's great for SmartFind screens:
