Hello All
Went back to my favorite strip (which I thought I scoured pretty good over the years) and pulled some more keepers.
1903 Indian
1911 V-Nicket
1920 D Wheat
no date Buffalo
12 1/2 cent trade token for the Smoke House cigar.
The SE is acting great on Nickels. I'm picking up a 5" SunRay coil and I'm planning on hitting this area again, since it's really trashy.
This is the same spot I went to yesterday, so I missed these coins the last time. I've hit this site countless times with the XLT. I remember pulling out Vs and Buffalos here then.. it's amazing how areas don't get hunted out.
Even today, a guy stopped to talk to me, he let me know he metal detects and that I was basically wasting my time here. He said the chances of me finding anything were slim to none due to all the detecting that has happened here over the 20+ years. I just nodded in agreement.. too bad I already had these keepers in my pouch. He seemed like he wanted to be the expert, so didn't feel it was necessary to 'one-up' him.. plus it's to my advantage if everyone thinks this area is bone dry.
