XLT Tone ID

I just purchased a Minelab SE instead of a White's DFX.. since I already own and love my XLT. I was blown away by the differences between the detectors (not talking about finds.. yet, but about behaviour). The Minelab uses tone id for finds. I know the XLT has a tone setting, and I've always turned that 'off'. What do you guys do? Is the popular vote using the tone id with XLT/DFX or to leave it off?

I always felt it was too distracting and 'chatty' with it on, but since that is the set up behaviour of the Minelab, I think I must have been missing out on a good thing. Your thoughts?

Tone ID is worth getting used to...you don't have to look at your display as often.
